Olena Shcherbyna specializes in sophisticated corporate law and corporate governance matters. She is highly reputed in the area of corporate governance and has substantial experience advising the leading Ukrainian corporations on developing management and shareholder structures, advising on shareholder protection, executive compensation, etc.

Ms. Shcherbyna experience includes working as a senior legal adviser for USAID Commercial Law Center, as well as a legal counsel for the International Finance Corporation in Ukraine and Russia. Ms. Shcherbyna participated in drafting legislation and regulations for the Ukrainian Securities Commission, including the Principles of Corporate Governance, model by-laws and regulations for joint stock companies. Olena has served as a member of the Working Group on the implementation of the recently-adopted law of Ukraine “On Joint-Stock Companies”.

Ms. Shcherbyna is actively involved with the Ukrainian legal community; serving as a member of various governmental institutions and working groups. Olena actively participates in the activities of the UBA, being a member of the board of corporate law committee. She is the author of numerous publications, including commentaries to the Civil Code of Ukraine, the monograph on shareholder remedies, etc.

Olena Shcherbyna frequently lectures at International Institute of Business and other professional education events.
